Why do I need a shopping cart?
You need a shopping cart if you have a website and want to sell your products online. If you don't have a website yet you might consider

A shopping cart will turn your current site into an ecommerce site. Using their tools you create "add to cart" buttons to put on your website product pages.
You then customize a series of checkout pages which the shopping cart provider hosts on their servers. A shopping cart add-on works in the following manner.
- Create "add to cart" and "checkout" buttons on the shopping cart services providers website.
- Put these buttons on the product pages on your website.
- When a user clicks on an "add to cart" button, the product is added to the shopping cart and the customer is taken to a shopping cart
page hosted by the service provider.
- From this shopping cart page the customer can choose to continue shopping or checkout. If the customer chooses to continue shopping they are taken back to your
website. If they choose to checkout they are taken through a series of customized checkout pages where the user enters the payment and shipping information and finalizes the purchase of the
items currently in the shopping cart.
